What if..
While I was just walking to class, late, or even with the rest of the crowd, I became the first victim of a shooting.
As if someone was watching me counting down the seconds before firing, landing me a spot as a statistic raising the number of deaths caused by school shootings.
What if I was just walking along minding my own business, then the next minute, my life is gone, and I’m watching from above. Watching the teachers scurry to lock their doors, the shooter enter the school. Watching it all but unable to do anything.
Watch as more people become like me. Watch as parents begin to wonder why did the school not see this coming? Blaming the school just so they could blame someone.
Watching the shooter most likely kill him/herself adding to another statistic.
What if today wasn’t like yesterday? What if instead of you acting the way you acted everyday, you were someone different. Completely different. If only for a day. The complete opposite of yourself.
Would being the complete opposite make you a mean person from your usual sweet composure, or would it make you a nice person from your usual mean persona?
What if today you were someone you wanted to be, not who people want you to be?
Are you really who you want to be? Or do you just act the way you do so you can fit in with a certain crowd.
People are never who they say they are. Everyone has one underlying issue. Some have multiple.
Whether you know them or not, all people are the same. Living, breathing, creatures. Whether they hate you for no reason, or just strive to be friends with you, they should be treated the same.
No matter if they are black white, asian, hispanic, gay, straight, bisexual, pansexual, lesbian, transgendered, male, female, young, old, anything.
Human is Human.
